Check

This is the very latest we have waited to get a year end evaluation. I say we but should say I. Yes, the year has been busy. In fact, it's been bursting at the seams. Procrastination is alive and well in our home. Last year is over lapping the planning of the coming year. EEEK.

I have to create accountability in my life. Not fun to live out. It is the best way to deal with my tendency to slump into procrastination. The lack of clear priorities through out the year duel with procrastination letting chaos reign.

These are really the same problem I struggle with in my life.  Two sides of the same coin, so to speak. Homeschooling is a magnifier of mom's personal issues. The blessings of homeschooling just keep coming, don't they! To think, I could have gone my whole life without ever realizing my potential to procrastinate.

The truth is homeschooling deals with an enormous amount of tasks, time, obligations, thinking, and stuff. Checking in with the Savior is the only way to the peace that not only passes understanding but frees my mind to think. Real thinking for priorities and goals. It is the way to rescue me from the dust of procrastination making my life only sneeze.

As a devoted homeschooling mommy I want to do it all. However, trying to do it all is a perfect recipe, to do not much at all. I challenge you and myself to refine the goals for the up coming year and make a clear priority chart.

We are going to make a priority chart to show the Little Women the reason for decisions. I'm considering a ladder but have not settled on it. Having a visual before me will be the accountability I need in a proactive way, while my heart is still light and not weighed down with the paralyzing dust.

Well I am happy to say, "Check on the evaluation!" Long over due....I am ready to press forward with enthusiasm. It's a new year for MOMMY!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip!

MMMMMMMMMMM Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies!!!  We can make 'em ourselves Mommy!!!

The girls have lots of fun following directions and learning to work together.

The house was filled with scents of love baked in hearts. After all the gobbled cookies there was still enough left to for the week's lunches and to share with Daddy!

Baking cookies is a wonderful motivator to complete less desirable tasks like napping. The promise of future baking makes my week sweet.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

This Land

State by State puzzle fun! This was so much fun for everyone watching the kids. Me Too delighted with doing such a large puzzle. Minnie Me felt grown up with her vocabulary of states. And Little Mommy entertained us all with state stories from history and our family's geography stories.

Future uses and ideas:
  • timed puzzle
  • working it alphabetically
  • working it in order of statehood
  • working it by Capitols
  • working it blind folded!
  • tracing the state pieces on felt to make their own puzzle
I would love to hear of more creative ideas with large floor puzzles!

This land is your land
This land is my land
From California to the New York Island
From the Red Wood Forrest
To the Gulf Steam Waters
This land was made for you and me

Now it's time for 4th of July cupcakes!

Nothing tastes better than making them yourself!

I praise The LORD for the freedom and blessing to homeschool. May it be for His Glory. I pray the girls learn to see His Hand in all of HisStory.

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being.
Acts 17:26-28

NOW IS THE TIME.

Do not think that because you are in the king's house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?
Esther 4:13-15

I think on these verses sometimes is the light of homeschooling in our country. I am part of royalty because I am a daughter of the king and because I live in such a great country. Yet my christian brothers and sisters near and far are put to the test. There is a battle all around growing for our families and for God's truth. Have we come to this position in Christ, in the US for such a time as this? I will not remain silent. I will fill my children with the WORD, so they know the Way, the Truth and the Life. They will have to arm themselves and take up the fight. The Battles will come causing them to stumble and fall, Yet victory through repentance is there waiting. I pray they know the LORD well enough to return in those times and  point others to the LORD. Bringing Jesus Glory. God's plan on His calendar will stand....the choice is: escape and salvation, truth and life for me and my family OR wait, remain silent, and lack faith to whatever the call on your life is. Deliverance will come! His Name is Jesus!
